The Messianic Jewish Rabbinical Council (MJRC)

The MJRC had its beginnings five years earlier. At that time a set of Messianic Jewish leaders from New England invited some of their colleagues from outside the region to join them in working on a common set of halakhic standards for themselves and their congregations. While other areas of Messianic Jewish life are of profound importance, such as worship, ethics, education, and social concern, we believed that halakhic standards had received far less attention than their place in Messianic Jewish life warranted.

The Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC)

The UMJC is the oldest and broadest affiliation of congregations serving the Jewish movement for Yeshua as Messiah and Lord, serving congregations that are committed to Yeshua and connected with Jewish life and identity. At our founding in 1979, we listed five organizational objectives:

  • To further the initiation, establishment, and growth of Messianic Jewish Congregations worldwide.

  • To be a voice for Messianic Jewish Congregations and Messianic Judaism worldwide.

  • To provide a forum for the discussion of issues relevant to Messianic Judaism and Messianic Jewish Congregations.

  • To aid in the causes of our Jewish people worldwide, especially in Israel.

  • To support the training of Messianic Leaders.

Chevra

Chevra means friendship. Our goal is to help our people in their time of need.

As people in the west began to hear of our work, they began to help by sending food, clothing and medicine. Most of this help came from people in England, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, and Switzerland. As quickly as aid came in, the amount of people that approached us for help also increased.

Eventually, people in the United States and Canada began to send help, and others became part of the group of workers. We are actively involved in many countries, and go by different names in each country, as laws regarding humanitarian organizations vary from country to country.

Chevra is the American entity for our international effort. Some countries are “giving countries” while others are “receiving countries”. We have been so blessed and are so rich in North America and we have the ability to do much to alleviate the suffering and needs of others. Chevra’s work is a way people can make a real difference in the lives of many people in need.

First Fruits of Zion (FFOZ)

First Fruits of Zion is a Messianic Jewish ministry that focuses on Bible study and education. It was founded by Boaz Michael in 1994 when he and his family immigrated to Israel.

We are a part of a prophetic movement of God in which his spirit is returning his people to a proper biblical foundation rooted in Torah, Israel, and the Messiah. We specialize in the study and teaching of Scripture from its historical, linguistic, and cultural context. We use the latest scholarship, ancient Jewish sources, and extra-biblical literature to present a Messianic Jewish reading of the Bible and early Jewish-Christianity. We are guided by sound scholarship and driven by a heart for the restoration of the body of Messiah.
